On Wednesday November 22, a group of BOLD Cities researchers travelled to Rotterdam to participate in a brainstorm with the Amsterdam-based art collective ARK. The brainstorm took place on initiative of the organization of Arcadia 2025, a 100-day cultural festival planned to take place in Leeuwarden in 2025. The Arcadia-organization brought the Centre for BOLD Cities and ARK together to see if they could potentially collaborate on an artwork or exhibition on the theme of contestable AI, as part of the 100-day festival.
During the first brainstorm last week, the BOLD Cities researchers and ARK artists got to know each other and their work through a series of seven-minute speeddates. After this first round of introductions, the group established multiple larger themes on which their expertises overlapped, within the framework of contestable AI, and from there on saw multiple possible topics for further collaboration.
